WiFi repeater mode on La Fonera 2.0N

Hi dear Fonero’s,

Which firmware do I have to use to get the WiFi repeater mode working on the La Fonera 2.0N? I tried 2.3.6.1, the 2.3.6.0 and finally the 2.3.0.0. I can not select the WiFi protocol option because it isn’t visible.

On this webpage http://blog.fonosfera.org/gari-jr-bringing-small-but-important-fixes/#comment-28025 Monzi_sez says he is using the repeater mode on the 2.0N and Matthijs says the repeater mode can be used when using firmware 2.3.0.0. How is this possible? I can’t see the WiFi option in the Internet Connection Setting-screen in the FON Router GUI. The only three options are: DHCP,Static IP and PPPoE.

I restarted the router (with firmware 2.3.0.0) after disconnecting the wire to the wan-connection. But that doesn’t help at all.

Using firmware 2.3.6.0 and 2.3.6.1 there is a fourth option: Bridge mode.

Is there any (old) firmware for the 2.0N so I can use the WiFi-WAN mode?
What about a developer version of the firmware?

When is the expected release of firmware 2.3.7.0?

Hi Shmoopy,

it's likely that repeater mode is available in the DEV version of 2.3.0.0 only (though I haven't checked this now). Then, it was still experimental, but later it was disabled entirely because it was often unstable. If you get it working with 2.3.0.0, please let us know!
